Just a quick entry to show some edited footage from the weekends live session shoot. This video is an example of the jib shots taken from my Canon 5Dm2 on the DSLR crane that I have. The clip has no audio, so as not to detract from the beautiful images.
Less than 72 hours ago I wrote of my renewed passion to get out and shoot beautiful footage. Having sent a handful of correspondence to a few places in order to gain experience and gather footage for a portfolio, I received one immediate and positive response; “Are you free Saturday to help shoot a music video?”. Early Saturday morning I packed my car with every piece of kit I own and headed down to the studio.
I’m pleased to say every piece of my kit was used. I used my Canon 5Dm2 on my DSLR crane, whilst another operator used his Canon 5Dm3 on my Glidetrack set atop two Enduro tripods. Even my 550D with the Tokina 11-16mm wide angle was used to capture the drummer and kit in its entirety.
The shoot was ambitious. With three Canon 5D’s, three Canon 7D’s and two Canon 550D’s, and over 256GB of footage by the end of the day, I certainly don’t envy the editor! Overall it felt like a very successful weekend, and I cannot wait to see the final edit put together.
Here’s a few screen grabs from the footage I captured. These are raw captures straight from the raw footage with no editing:
